This is something talked about alot, but in the timeframe of the TV series, what technological edge do the Martians actually have?
What's on your mind?

General Discussion
I really hope SyFy's commitment to the Expanse is strong, because unlike Game of Thrones, The Expanse can't afford to be too lackadaisical about releasing new content... heck, there might be 10 books by the time season 5 comes out.
I think a thread needs to be made about the Timeline in The Expanse Universe. This would be one of my biggest complaints about the TV compared to the books. In the Tv show, it feels like all of Levi Wakes and Calibans War happened within a Week's time. I know that time passes but really left to question how much time passes. I liked that the Rocinante did legitment work for the OPA before Calibans war.
Alright, we are six months out. anybody got some foreshadowing.
My guesses would be, that the Rocinante and crew head out to a colony planet, possibly Udoxia (I could be spelling that wrong). I say that because the epiloge of Babylons Ashes was with Anna and Alex says before that, he wants to visit more planets while he can.
Duarte probably make some play. My imagination isnt good enough to predict what.
someone important dies. Avasarala??? (not that i want her to go)
will Jules Pierre Mao return?
will Erich return and be Han Solo. (saving Amos in dire straights)
and we can all hope the Investigator to return.. :/
Who will become the next Fred Johnson? Will Holden evolve to be the face of Tycho Station? Drummer maintains a close relationship with Holden. Will she become the face of Tycho Station?
I feel Tycho station and it people maintains an aura of greatness around it. Where dreams are made type stuff.
Having somwhat of an obession with The Expanse, when I watch Star Wars Rogue One, the man designing the Death Star, General Hux, instantly reminded me of a Sociopath we all know Dresden!
That also got me thinking that both ,niverse's and how they both revolve around sociopaths researching weapon projects.
The wikia tab about the OPA.
I feel like we sorta need to update the OPA page, maybe into two wikia, because the OPA at the start of Leviathan Wakes and continueing thru the books has different meanings. First its a loosely knit group of belter faction, then becomes a legitmate goverment of the belt. The Wikia says Known Members as a subsection. Well pretty much the all 50-100 million belters are with and part of the OPA, including shadidd. Also i think there should be a Cult of Personality tab for known leaders within the OPA.
"Theres OPA and then there is OPA"
Is there an official policy on pages for the TV and book versions of the Expanse? Because there's a lot of variations between pages on how it is made different, and I wonder if it is best to have utilize a single format.
Season 3 is coming.
Who do you hope to see cast? Here are some of the biggest roles along with my initial ideas.

Do you agree with my ideas? Have better ideas?
Anyone you thought would've filled a role in the first two season but were cast differently?
I've been wondering, with the crisis on Earth after the rocks were dropped and the exodus of people from Mars. Why don't people from Earth move to Mars? They have vacancy to fill and would probably the kind of ironic justice the expanse follows.
I see issues though, first it might be an issue with the bottleneck of people just trying to get off earth and into orbit, second just the general anti earther strerotype on Mars might hold back the Martians to offer up houses for those who are in need on earth, third alot of the ships are going to the planets opened up by the Ring Gate, thus taking away the auxiarally ships that may have contributing to the relocation effort.
Also Im not sure how the Mars is doing on supplies, maybe after all the war efforts, they still need basics like water from the belt, which they might not still be geting, to supply there own population.
I haven't seen much discussion about the kids of The Expanse. One of my favortie shows "The Wire", during the the forth season the shifted the focus to kids in the streets of Baltimore and how the streets forces theses kid to make choices such as becoming a drug dealer, a junkie, or a stick up boy. I feel like the books are setting us up for a 2nd generation after Holden crews.
So I thought we could discuss the kids and there future.
Filip - Belter mechanic / wepon opps / Captain
Mei Meng - Botanist / Scientist
Kiki - Politician
Alex and Talissa son or daughter - Pilot
Diogo - Belter security (albeit Diogo is a little older than the rest)
I know there is more im not thinking of and this would better with a grid.
It would be nice if clarissa and amos had a baby but i think Amos got a visectamy.
With the system is in "Ashes" does any one think Jules Pierre Mao was able to escape prison like Clarissa. Will he he an adversary again to Holden? I know nothing has been mentioned about him but seems like it could be possible, probably not in next book, where i think Duarte will be the next big bad guy.
Any chance any body else survived in a similar way, Murtry is possible but he never had the clout compared to Jules.
In the season 2 finale, "Caliban's War", Elias Toufexis is credited for "Hybrid"
He's the same actor who did Kenzo in season 1's finale.
Is he the hybrid they eliminated off the Rocinante? Is the hybrid a different character portrayed by the same actor or did the protomolecule alter the corporate spy and transport him to Ganymede? Is he a character I didn't catch in the episode, perhaps one that was cut and left on the editing room floor?
EDIT:
Picking up from a question i started here: Thread:8842#4
The book version did kill all occupants of the Arboghast but we didn't get a first person POV of that.
The TV version, as part of the season 2 (or season Ⅱ[1][2] ? ?) finale, "Caliban's War", disassembled the ship however the passengers all seemed to still be breathing without struggle. They were surprised but alive in that moment.
In the books, Michael-Jon de Uturbé was a personal friend who relayed to Chrisjen Avasarala the report of the dismantling of the Arboghast. Michael-Jon was remote
In the TV show, Michael Iturbi was also a close friend but he has not shared the information to Avasarala. He is aboard the ship. If he doesn't survive, nobody will receive the news.
Will the TV version kill off the crew or will the ship be reassembled and the occupants left on their way?

The first part of the Origins prequel digital comic has been released: https://www.comixology.eu/The-Expanse-Origins-1-of-4/digital-comic/486030?ref=Y29taWMvdmlldy9kZXNrdG9wL3NsaWRlckxpc3Qvc2VyaWVz
The comics are co-written by James S.A. Corey, and provide more background on Holden, Naomi and Alex before the first book and season.
Now the question is: should we treat them as canon for the books, for the TV show, for both or for neither?
The description says "Based on the bestselling books and tying into the hit television series" and the preview pages do seem to use the likenesses of characters and costumes from the show. It looks like they might be entirely consistent with both versions, so maybe we should consider the information from the comics as additional background to be added to both the show and book versions of e.g. Jim Holden?
I'm hoping this Wired article about The Expanse isn't true, but with expensive-to-produce sci-fi shows, it might be...

So, I don't know if anyone noticed this, but I thought it was very cool.
Alex is chilling in the Roci as it slingshots around the Jovian moons... and almost runs into a MCRN patrol ship. Did you notice that when the alarms sounded the lights in the ship went from red to blue?
I love this because it's opposite of the traditional "red alert" trope in sci-fi. The Roci is a Martian ship, so "good" is red and "bad" is blue (United Nations blue?).
I'm sure there are more things... anything else you noticed?
Here are the two sources we have so far:
Neither is super strong. Props are notorious for typos and misspellings throughout the entertainment industry. A tweet from an unknown person behind the Syfy twitter channel doesn't inspire confidence.
However, until we see or hear otherwise, I guess it's "Praxideke".
I really hope it wasn't changed because "dike" is in the name. I was once initially blocked from getting a conference badge, because there is technically a profanity embedded in my last name, so it isn't unheard of.
Question: As of now Florence Faivre is credited with playing Julie Mao in 20 episodes(IMdB, but isn't that the daughter of the Mao running the protomolocule experiments? The girl who vanished with Miller when Eros struck Venus. Miller, who was in every episode until then, but is credited with fewer appearances. And the daughter, who certainly seemed to be in fewer episodes than Miller? Or is Julie Mao a different character, as her pic seems to indicate.
