The Expanse Wiki was mentioned by Daniel and Ty in a recent interview with the podcast Swords & Laser :)

Yes, although it's also a reference to a song by Rush, Ty Franck's favorite band. https://expanse.fandom.com/wiki/Rocinante_(Books)#Trivia
My two cents: Comments are not an especially constructive feature on a wiki like this, and there's little of value in the comments we have. Comments tend to simply lie unseen forever, unless an admin wants to go through them. Forums are a much better way to foster community and discussion. I don't think their loss will be felt very strongly (although I don't necessarily share the argument in removing them prematurely to feel the loss even less).
That said, Wikia/Fandom's track record hasn't been stellar in this department. In the 6 or so years I've administered this wiki, there have been many upheavals – the old-style forums were deleted and replace with new-style, which have also been changed a lot, the blog feature has been neglected, etc.
Not sure if it adds anything that's not known already, but I've done a new write-up on Stack Exchange regarding the relative time between the books here: https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/168490/how-much-time-passes-between-each-novel-in-the-expanse-series/169948#169948
And yeah, I should probably write them up as blog entries here as well.
I agree that it should only be bolded the first time the article's name is encountered, in the first sentence. This matches Wikipedia's style guide (and yes, we probably should make our own): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Lead_section#Format_of_the_first_sentence
Personally, I think the invention of the Epstein drive would be the most logical starting point of the timeline.
I disagree that we don't know when the events take place. I think we have enough information about the timeframe to do that, although it requires a little speculation (but not much more than the timeline contains now).
I recently wrote up an analysis on StackExchange of the series' timeframe here: https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/156761/when-does-the-expanse-take-place/156762#156762 (it's a reworked comment I made in the forums on this wiki some time ago).
I arrived at the Epstein drive being invented around year 2200, around 150 years before Leviathan Wakes (of course the TV series says 137 years before).
My analysis isn't necessarily perfect, but at any rate I think we should consider 2350 the canon year of the starting point of Leviathan Wakes, at least, since that was heavily implied to be the case by Ty (also in a comment here on the wiki). OK, he was anonymous, but I think we can assume it was really him.

Miller is supposed to be 3 years older than the actor, yes.
Now I've gotten some time to look over the wiki, and great work so far! You've really been at it, editing every day for two weeks and everything. Really appreciate it.
Still wondering if splitting everything in book and TV articles is the best way though... It seems slightly drastic, and as you say yourself, this means a lot of copy and paste. I see you linked to TWD as an example; I'm not too familiar with that franchise, but there seem to be a lot more media there? I mentioned the Harry Potter wikia, which combines book and movie characters into the same article, which I think makes good sense for a wiki as small as ours. But maybe there are some benefits I haven't thought of.
Hmm, is going this far in splitting articles into separate book and TV articles so beneficial? What do we gain from that?
Most of the information is probably going to be identical anyway, but differences could probably be explained in the articles? If we split all articles in two, the wiki itself could just as well be split into two different wikis too.
I never really liked the subcategories for male and female characters, someone else added them I think, but it's not very important to me.
Great!
Speaking of particular fan-wikis, I really want to achieve making this a good one-stop wiki for both the books and the TV series. I'm not completely sure how to best do that, though, and how to separate the content. If anyone knows any wikis that cover both a book series and its TV/film adaptation (many have separate wikis, like GoT/ASoIaF), chime in. The Harry Potter wiki here on Wikia comes to mind.
Something that should've been done a while ago is finish writing synopses for more of the books. People have been asking for that every summer for the last couple of book releases, to read up on the previous books in the series.
Every summer I have been refreshing the theme here on the wiki to reflect the newest book, but now we should dress it up more like the TV series. I can look at finding a good background and get some colors up.
Another kinda minor thing I guess it's time to fix is the fact that I tried to be clever and initially created pages like The Expanse as category page with content. It looks good, it seemed smart and tidy, but I'm not so sure it's ideal after all (especially now that the book series isn't the only thing called The Expanse). Thoughts?
That's just off the top of my head, I know there's more I've been meaning to do lately before I got a kid and didn't have any free time for months.
It was just released for free as an online website, at least :) http://www.syfy.com/theexpanse/drive/
Syfy will be at the SDCC! Lucky attendees will get to see the first episode! Cast members will be there! It's crazy!
If you have any questions to ask the cast and producers, Wikia will be there and have the opportunity to ask some questions. For a chance to have them ask yours, submit them here: Syfy's The Expanse Q&A
Here's another one, a mix for Captain James Holden of the Rocinante (more indie-oriented)
Great! Since that's the new official trailer, I'll go ahead and replace the other one.
In case the video isn't available in your country (like here), here's another official source: https://amp.twimg.com/v/9acd0d47-65ca-4978-bfad-3d4a58951f8c
The first official trailer for The Expanse is here! It features the crew of the Rocinante (and a small shot of the Roci herself), secondary characters, zero-gravity hair and zero-gravity sex, and a lot of action!
What do you think?
Hey! The moons are actually mentioned as early as on page 7, and also on page 222 (depending on your edition). As our article on New Terra states, the planet actually has 13 moons. These moons are really alien constructs and not natural moons, and they have very low "albedo" (meaning that they don't reflect much light), so the night sky is dark.
The OPA leaders have been cast! Fred Johnson will be played by Chad Coleman, who portrayed Dennis "Cutty" Wise in The Wire as well as Tyreese in The Walking Dead. Jared Harris from Mad Men fame, and also from sci-fi cult series Fringe, will play Anderson Dawes. He has the acne pock scars in his face down, if pointing that out isn't considered rude…
Shawn Doyle from Big Love will play Sadavir Errinwright. Although he is a great actor, he physically doesn't look like his literary counterpart, who is dark-skinned, pudgy and has a British accent.
Another casting choice that deviates from the book's description is a Ade Nygaard. The TV series counterpart to the book character Ade Tukunbo[1], who was described as ethnically Nigerian, the Canterbury's navigational officer has a Scandinavian-sounding name in the show and will be played by Canadian actress Kristin Hager from Being Human.
Seeing as James S. A. Corey and the casting crew has gone to great lengths to avoid "white-washing" the cast, "white-washing" (in lack of a better term) these two relatively minor characters seems odd. Considering that Avasarala will have a larger role in the show, it's not weird that Errinwright will as well, but surely there are ethnically Nigerian actresses who can fill the small part of Ade? If she will also have a larger role, that's a pretty major deviation from the book. We will have to wait and see.
