In BA, chapter 7, Clarissa is thinking about three poets during her poetry course in prison. Two of them are real, Anneke Swineheart and H.D. (Hilda Doolittle). But what about Carlos Pinnani? The only close name I was able to find is Carlos Pintado. Does anyone know if Pinnani is just misspelled Pintado, or if this poet does (did) exist, or if it's someone completely fictious?
What's on your mind?

I just finished the last book and I am a bit puzzled by the end. What do you think about how it turns out in the station? The choices Holden makes?
In 2394 (equivalent to Tiamat’s Wrath), Laconia came out of exile 6 years ago, and there are 280 pulsar-class fast destroyers. In PR, Bobbie says that the Storm has 200 to 250 marines in power armor. This means 56,000 to 70,000 marines are station on pulsar-class destroyers (the only problem being the destroyers could be under crewed or that the storm was over crewed). There are 5,000 original colonists on Laconia, and Gewitter base in Bara Gaon system has nearly 7,000 permanent officers and personnel. So probably at least 78,000 to 82,000, because they still need crews for all the ships. Keep in mind, I’m only counting people born on Laconia, and maybe a few Laconians that were born on Gewitter Base of Medina Station (I’m assuming they still have children). According to Dark_Ops16, in the show 10 ships made transit with 1,700 personnel.
Im done reading the books and short stories. Great story! Im just waiting for the release of memories legion. I feel wanting for more.
Wanted to learn more about the following:
ring builders,
the linguist,
the immortal Cara and Xan upon going to Sol system,
What happened to Arjun Avasarala,
What happened to Filip, etc.
I am half way through the last book (Leviathan Falls). I am quite confused with how Dr. Okoye acquires insights from her test subjects. Scroll down for the specific question:
Im in the part where the Roci team covertly visited Dr. Okoye in Adro System. How do the test subjects (Cara, Amos, Xan), BFE, and catalyst work together and generate comprehensible language for Dr. Okoye’s team? I am confused with all how it was described, including the presence of the the builders (grandmothers?) and Duarte’s apparition as they conduct the “dive”.
Can we say that Amos and Cara are being used as “mediums” during this experiment?
Off topic: i genuinely enjoyed it when Tanaka’s team was wiped out during the supposed exchange in New Egypt. I thought someone else had struck Tanaka with a sledgehammer (thinking it was Teresa’s Aunt), but surprisingly it was Holden! I like how the authors made me hate the character Tanaka.
This is bothering the hell out of me after reading book 7 and I gotta let the internet know. Before the heart of the tempest comes through the gate fucking everything up everyone in the trade union (Belters... many of which probably associated with the free navy, some of which may have been on medina at that time) is like "oh who cares, these people have been stuck out there why the hell should we worry about 30 year old ships, hahaha!" When Laconia had already very clearly been building their own, heavily protomoleculed ships and tech after they not only brought the fancy new railguns to put on the ring station for the free navy but also brought it with a BRAND NEW ship called the proteus that was 100% built in Laconia using tech no one had ever seen before. How did absolutely no record of this last and how did no one 30 years later realize the Laconians had the ability to build their own highly advanced shit, I just feel like it is somewhat of a plot hole as it was extremely public when laconia brought the railgun with their fancy new ship, thousands of people saw it, thousands upon thousands more saw the new railgun tech that was built in laconia. Just seems idiotic and inconsistent to me that in the time of book 7 everyone is acting like laconia is a backwater shithole that could never have the ability to build new ships. Rant over and also I am glad someone noted this problem in the wiki's page about the proteus https://expanse.fandom.com/wiki/Proteus-class .
Not sure how I missed this...
