Ubiquitous. And mendacious, and polyglottal. With a couple of donkey balls.
— Alex Kamal

The MCRN Ambedkar was an MCRN Morrigan-class patrol destroyer that was active during the UN-MCR Cold War. During this time, the Ambedkar was attached to the MCRN Yangtse as a patrol skiff.

History[]

During the UN-MCR Cold War, the vessel attempted to board the former MCRN Tachi—now Rocinanteas part of a routine patrol following an attack on another Martian destroyer. Having been made aware of black ops codes that would avert such boarding action, the crew of the Rocinante raced to acquire them before the Ambedkar could dock and discover that their ship was, indeed, a former Martian frigate. Successful in their endeavor, Rocinante read the black ops code phrase, including the words "ubiquitous", "mendacious" , and "polyglottal". Shortly after, Ambedkar acknowledged receipt of the message and moved away from the Rocinante without question.

Trivia[]

  • The Ambedkar is named after the 20th century Indian politican B.R. Ambedkar. He was Independent India's first law minister, the principal architect of the Constitution of India and a founding father of the Republic of India.
  • The word "ubiquitous", as used in the sequence of code words given by Alex to the Ambedkar, apparently evolved in the TV adaptation from the use as a signal (in the novel Leviathan Wakes) between the survivors of the Canterbury and Fred Johnson to indicate no coercion.
