Bertold is a member of Camina Drummer's polyamorous family and a crewmember of the Dewalt.

Throughout the series[]
After some tense discussion, particularly on the part of Michio, it is Bertold who dispels the illusion that there is a choice whether they will accept Marco Inaros' proposal to join the Free Navy.[1]
Bertold unsuccessfully resists Drummer's mutiny against Marco's faction and later departs with Oksana on the Mowteng.[2]
