The EMC Joint Fleet[1] was a fleet of the Earth-Mars Coalition, formed as a forward military component to seize control of Ceres and to a broader context the Belt from the Free Navy during the Free Navy Conflict. Later, it partook in the Combined Fleet Offensive near the Sol gate.
History[]
Ceres Offensive[]

The Joint Fleet traveled towards Ceres in force to seize it from the Free Navy. As the fleet ships approached closer to the dwarf planet, they sent an ultimatum demanding the complete surrender of all Free Navy forces on Ceres.
Two MCRN heavy frigates moved into Ceres' docks with two man squads of MMC Force Recon Marines departing the ships before docking and manually entering the station to secure the immediate area for the rest of the Marines. Squads of the United Nations Marine Corps (UNMC) and Martian Marine Corps (MMC) departed the frigates and proceeded to advance through the station.
Unexpected detonations of bombs hidden throughout the station's docks also occurred at the airlocks of the two Martian Congressional Republic Navy (MCRN) heavy frigates docked, breaking them off from the station uncontrolled and damaged.[2]
First Battle of Medina Station[]

Following this, MCR Naval Command advised to abandon Ceres and make a hard burn for the Sol gate to capture the Ring Space and Medina Station as soon as possible before the bulk of the Free Navy's forces could entrench themselves further there. While UN Secretary-General Chrisjen Avasarala aboard UNN Zenobia denied any committment to this plan via forces or vessels, the MCR dispatched a task force presumably led by the MCRN Atacama and Admiral Sandrine Kirino.[3] The task force destroyed the Free Navy sentries of the gate with ease, but was unexpectedly destroyed by newly installed railgun enplacements on the Ring Station. However, this informed the EMC of the new railguns and the tactical advantage of the Free Navy.[4]
Combined Fleet Offensive[]
- Main article: Combined Fleet Offensive
After having supplied Ceres' population with stolen goods of the Drummer faction, the Joint fleet advanced to the Sol gate in conjunction with various Belter forces under the command of Camina Drummer. Due to the relatively even distribution of forces on both sides, the Joint fleet split up to engage three distinct Free Navy battlegroups as they approached the Sol gate, while the Rocinante and Giambattista attempted an amphibious assault on the Ring Station railguns.
In three separate engagements, the UNN, MCRN and Belter forces battled the Free Navy battlegroups; the UNN force was given the task to engage what they presumed to be the Pella and its command fleet which however turned out to be a distraction, as the real Pella had been masked as a freighter which the Drummer faction was tasked with engaging. The Joint fleet was unable to completely destroy the Free Navy fleet before it was annihilated by the Ring network anomaly as they transited the gate.[5]
Fleet ships[]
The fleet has consisted of at least thirty ships over the span of its deployment during the Free Navy Conflict:
Notes[]
- Although not confirmed, it is possible that this fleet may consist of multiple Truman-class dreadnoughts and Scirocco-class assault cruisers. During the Season 6 opening credits, multiple Truman-class and Scirocco-class vessels were seen flying past Mars, possibly heading to capture Ceres in "Force Projection".
