“Battle for humanity” —
The Rocinante engagement of the Zmeya was a fight between the gunship Rocinante and the Free Navy transport Zmeya which had attacked Tycho station previously, and stolen the Protomolecule.
Events[]
After fixing a sabotaged reactor, the Rocinante left Tycho Station in pursuit of the Zmeya. To aid them, Bull ordered communications relays on Tycho to focus on this busy trade route and find the Zmeya.
Upon discovering the Zmeya, the Rocinante moved at high G to reach and engage it. On coming within range, the Zmeya opened its hold, sending multiple torpedoes after the Rocinante. Holden launched two torpedoes, destroying two incoming torpedoes, then eliminate the remaining incoming torpedoes with PDC fire. One of the Rocinante's PDCs became jammed at this point. Let us notice that the "Zmeya" fired all together 22 torpedoes at the "Rocinante" which crew, after shot down two of the Zmeya's with two of theirs and 20 with PDCs and 20th was the one that jammed their fore starboard PDC that was shown jammed on the weapons console before it got jammed, shot down 7 more
The Rocinante fired a railgun round through the Zmeya's drive cone, disabling it. Holden ordered the Zmeya to turn off its drive and prepare to be boarded. At this point, to the surprise of the Roci crew, the reactor core exploded and destroyed the Zmeya entirely.
