Background[]
Craig and his husband, Franklin DeGraaf are friends with Chrisjen Avasarala and her husband Arjun, based upon Franklin's long friendship with Chrisjen's father and her family. He and Franklin planned to make Mars their long-term retirement home.[1]
Throughout the Series[]
Due to the political intrigue following the destruction of the Canterbury, Franklin's life becomes a shambles and he is found dead, the victim of an apparent suicide.[2]
After Franklin's death, Chrisjen visits Craig in thier home. Craig tells her that unlike Frank, he is able to stay properly angry at her. He won't forgive her for betraying Frank but he allows her to go to Frank's study to say, "goodbye." There, Chrisjen recovers pencils which happen to be electronic data storage devices containing information instrumental in uncovering the secret of the fusion drive signatures of the mysterious ships that attacked the Canterbury and the Donnager.[3]
