During his visit to Mars, Alex Kamal visited the base and spoke to Admiral Duarte to inquire about several missing ships and military equipment. Unknown to Alex, it was Admiral Duarte who was directly responsible for these missing ships, but Duarte was able to divert Alex's suspicions away from himself and directed Alex to speak with senior programmer Kaarlo Henderson-Charles. When Alex visited Kaarlo's quarters, he found the programmer dead.[1]
Bobbie Draper mentioned to Amos Burton that he, Alex Kamal, Naomi Nagata, James Holden and Shed Garvey as the survivors of the Canterbury's destruction would have been transferred to Hecate Base on Mars for further interrogation after being picked up by the MCRN Donnager. Amos remarked he would not have revealed any information to the MCR, to which Bobbie responded that would have made their interrogation more enjoyable.[2]
