Javi is a Bouillotte dealer on Ceres.
Biography[]
Background[]
Javi runs his gambling operation at the bottom of the stairs to Miller's quarters. He and Miller often talk while gambling.
Since he deals in gambling chips, he is an ideal exchange broker to the black market. He also serves as a pawn broker.
Throughout the series[]
When Miller loses his job and decides to leave Ceres, he went to Javi to cash out the chips he collected as bribes from the likes of Vargas and other small time criminals. Javi also offers to pawn Juie Mao's necklace though Miller declines the offer. Miller uses the funds to book travel for the first time ever off of Ceres on the Belt Transit Ferry to Eros.[1]
Personality[]
Javi is friendly and known to chat with his customers about current affairs like water shortages/rationing and the social and political consequences of missed deliveries such as that caused by the destruction of the Canterbury.[2]

- Thomas Jane wanted to use a name for the character since the script didn't assign one and it was decided to use the name of screenwriter Javier Grillo-Marxauch.[3]
