The Laconia system is a gravitationally bound system containing nine major planetary bodies in orbit around its governing star. It was first reached in 12 XTE. One of its worlds, the namesake of the system, is fully habitable.
History[]
A rogue Martian Congressional Republic Navy (MCRN) faction is based in the Laconia system, being led by Admiral Winston Duarte. Since then, said MCRN elements have established a functioning pseudo-government.
With the rogue MCRN fleet having taken control of the system, they set up a mine field on a side of the Laconia gate to prevent any unauthorized access, with the gate being gaurded at all times as well.[3]
There aren’t very many points of interest in Laconia system. It is still too new for the spread of human stations that Sol system had. There are some, though. An ice moon around the system’s single gas giant has a scientific outpost on it. One of the inner, rocky planets has been mining titanium for five years. Winston Duarte set aside a Ceres-sized dwarf planet as the site of a massive art project underway. [4] A transfer station orbits the system’s only gas giant.[2]
It is unknown if the human population located in the system collapsed when the ring gates were destroyed, however it is unlikely due to the fact that the original colonists survived, and that it was already so developed.[citation needed]
