Captain McDowell has been commissioned by the Pur'n'Kleen Water Company as the commanding officer of the Canterbury
Biography[]
Background[]
He is the senior member of the Canterbury crew. Having served abroad the freighter for many years, he came to adopt a relaxed attitude, willing to ignore regulations and take corners while at work.
He has a collection of glass cats in a cabinet next to his desk that he refers to as "collectibles" which he likes to pet when he thinks no one will see.
Beyond that, he is risk averse and doesn't want to make waves with the company regarding the poor state of his ship.
Throughout the series[]
He opted to ignore and delete the distress call from the Scopuli in violation of shipping laws as it would result in a shipment delay and cost him and his crew an on-time bonus.
