I read your comment on the Nauvoo page. I looked on the main wiki on ships that served with different navies with different names and they tend to use only one page for all.
I have cleaned up the page with info boxes in recent months to make everything clearer but I do believe that having separates page for the TV and Book versions would be better (and allow us to remove the tabber section) and keep differences clearer.
I future I will leave you a message directly to your wall than as a comment on the page in question.
When naming events if they don't have canon name I just try and keep them descriptive and as simple as possible. The other page I changed the name of was the "Laconian Unification Movement" which I changed to "Laconia Unification War". I personally preferred something along the lines of "Laconia-Sol War", but I did not want to change without others being in agreement so changed "Movement" to "War" as it was a more accurate description (Movement sounds too much like a Political action to myself).
I originally suggested "Laconian Unification Movement" because it was much too one-sided to be considered a war and unification because the conquering force considered it such. A war would've been much more protracted. The conquering force would name the conflict. In their mind, they were doing humanity a service by conquering them.
I personally would like to change it to Laconia-Sol Conflict as its more descriptive. I prefer to just keep event names as simple as possible (my examples of this include Free Navy Conflict, and Engagement in the Jovian system) Simple as possible and to the point. Calling it Laconia-Sol War or Laconia-Sol Conflict may better suit. Wars are not always protracted affairs. The 6-day war between Irael and several Arab nations being a good example of this.
Do you think that such entities as the UN and MCR should be referred to by their full name when first referenced in an article? Everyone who frequents the wiki knows that the United Nations and Martian Congressional Republic are colloquially referred to as the UN and MCR respectively, but for general purposes and professionalism, I feel like they should be first called the United Nations and Martain Congressional Republic upon appearing in an article. The same goes for the UNN, MCRN, etc.
I think that so long as there is a link on the name/abbreviation, either is acceptable. Depending on context, it could be preferable to avoid leaving a high profile on the reference/mention. This is not a print medium but a digital medium and it is easy to follow a link
I can't think of any characters born disabled in the books or show (Unless you count the children selected to be turned into Hybrids, and they needed shots every few hours to live), but there are two characters badly hurt who needed mechanical legs to move around dispite their injuries (Drummer TV, and Bull Books).
I'm going through a number articles and editing their grammar. When editing, I've commonly changed large parts of said articles (though only for grammar and sentence structure). Due to the large parts being edited, I just want to make sure I'm within my rights to do so.
