Michio is a class-two salvager, an emergency med-technician, and a member of Camina Drummer's polyamorous family.

Biography[]

Background[]

Little is known about Michio's past; she is a Belter born and raised, a certified salvager and med-tech, and had been working and living within a polyamorous family of salvagers, with Oksana, Josep, Bertold and Serge, before being joined by Drummer.

Personality[]

Michio is sensitive and gentle, and is the most peace-oriented and compassionate among her family. She is the first to protest when they are forced to join Marco Inaros, as she detests him for being a mass murderer, and she is the only one who seems to feel empathy and regret for the suffering he caused the people of Earth. She is very open with her feelings and is prone to crying during emotional moments, but she is not a pushover and knows how to stand her ground when necessary.

While Michio is very capable at handling medical emergencies and can even leap to action if necessary (such as when she attacked Karal to save Drummer), she is considerably more inept at warfrare and fighting than her peers; her kind and peaceful nature make it gradually harder for her to withstand the stress and cruelty of the war they have been plunged into, and all the losses they suffered as a result of it.

Ultimately, the core of her character is love. She is devoted to her loved ones, their happiness and safety, and in Drummer's words, she is a builder, not a fighter.

Throughout the series[]

In "Tribes", after Drummer's meeting with Marco Inaros and listening to his proposal, Michio is the most adamantly and vocally opposed among the family, citing that he is a mass-murderer and that it is his war, not theirs.

In "Nemesis Games", Michio supports Drummer's coup against the Free Navy on board the Tynan. When Karal picks up her gun and is about to fire it at Drummer, Michio attacks her from behind using a fire extinguisher, killing her instantly. She chooses to remain with Drummer and Josep when Oksana and Bertold leave on the Mowteng.

In "Strange Dogs", Michio is onboard the Tynan with Drummer and Josep as they are hiding from the Free Navy bounty hunter ship, the Jotunn. They had setup a trap for the Jotunn with the use of the evacuated Dewalt as bait to destroy the Jotunn. Michio is responsible for activating the missiles as soon as Drummer gives the order to fire. However, when the Jotunn gets in range, Michio mistakenly presses the button that activates a signal that the Jotunn picks up. Michio is shaken by the mistake as Drummer is forced to detroy the Dewalt by overload the fusion reactor to destroy the Jotunn to escape. Later, Michio enters her living space of her poly family where she is confronted by Drummer and Josep. She promises to do better but Drummer tells her she is doing her best. Drummer then tells her they will be dropping her off on Ganymede to be safe and Michio breaks down crying as she lays down on her bed.

In "Ankawala", Micio informs Josep that Camina has kept many video messages from Naomi on her hand terminal and no messages from their family, proving that she cares more about Naomi than the rest of them. Michio does tell him she put back the hand terminal but Josep then tells her everyone has their own perosnal things they are torn on. Michio is then conforted by Josep over her soon to be departure.

In "Azure Dragon", the Tynan docks with the Inazami, Michio, Josep, and Drummer are in the dock walkway. When the airlocks open, she meets Liang Walker. There he tells Drummer that Michio will not be safe on Ganymede since security forces were now run by the Free Navy. Michio then tells it would be better if she stayed onboard the Tynan. Walker also tells Drummer of Free Navy supply stashes which leads them to form an alliance and Michio to stay on the Tynan.

In "Force Projection", while onboard the Tynan's bridge, Michio watches a Monica Stuart news report featuring Pastor Anna Volovodov on the devastation on Earth. Michio is moved by Anna's speech and agrees with it. Josep watches it with her and seems not be moved by the pastor's words and this causes Michio to get into a argument with him. Their arguments gets so loud that Drummer has to intervene and end it.

In "Redoubt", while Drummer, Josep, Walker, board a Free Navy supply depot, Michio stays onboard the Tynan. This is until Josep is pinned by a container and Michio moves the Tynan close to the supply depot to board it. Once she arrives to where Josep is pinned, she assesses his state as an emergency medic and then tries with the others to free Josep. Once that does not work, she tells him that she loves him and is sorry, then gives him a kiss before quickly sawing his arm off without anaesthesia. Once she's back onboard the Tynan with Josep in their quarters, she stays with him as he rest and grows his arm.
