The facility was used by Lawrence Strickland and Jules-Pierre Mao to conduct Project Caliban research, infusing people with the protomolecule to turn them into Hybrid soldiers. Key targets of the project were children from Ganymede with the condition Myers-Skelton Premature Immunosenescence such as Mei Meng and Katoa Merton. To maintain secrecy, the facility was set up inside an abandoned Helium-3 refinery owned by Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile.[1]
Prospero Station was nuked by the Rocinante during the Io Campaign.[2]
Trivia
- In Shakespeare's play The Tempest, the human character Prospero becomes master of the monster Caliban and forces Caliban into submission by punishing him with magic if he does not obey.[3]
