Serge was one of the pilots of the Dewalt and a member of Camina Drummer's polyamorous family.
Biography[]
Background[]
Throughout the series[]
In "Tribes", Serge is exchanged to Marco Inaros for Karal as a token of tribute and trust. Michio voiced strong opposition however ultimately Bertold points out and the family concedes that, for all practical intents and realistic purposes, there is not another option except to effectively sacrifice themselves. Marco will be too powerful and they would still be hunted by the Inners.
In "Nemesis Games", after the five ships he sent to engage the Rocinante fail, Marco is aware that Drummer had betrayed him. In response, Marco summons Serge (who was unaware of Drummer’s actions) and told him that he needed “help” sending a message. He sends Drummer's faction a video of himself personally executing Serge by forcing him into an airlock at gunpoint, suffocating him by opening it, and kicking his body out into space. Devastated by this, Oksana and Bertold decide to leave, but Drummer, Michio, and Josep resolve to stay and fight the Free Navy.

Notes[]
- The character is credited simply as "Serge"; however, as part of the exchange in "Tribes" chapter/scene "Voluntary Conscription", he introduces himself to Marco including a last name, "Kylo".
- In a production inconsistency, Serge's surname is spelled differently between the subtitles versus the onscreen graphics. As Marco summons Serge, the display shows the name "Serge Kailo"[1]
