Biography[]

Background[]

Personality[]

Tilly is extremely outgoing, upfront, and unapologetic. She wastes little time with pretense but takes full advantage of her position of wealth and power. She is a heavy social drinker and seems to be drowning her woes and sorrows. She seeks the company of others as an escape to new adventures.

Throughout the series[]

Season 3[]

"It Reaches Out"[]

Tilly has joined Anna Volovodov at the table and mocks Hector Cortez despite admitting how her family bankrolls his church in exchange for influence over his congregation.

"Intransigence"[]

It is revealed that she is an acquaintance of the Mao family and appeared at a party thrown by Clarissa Melpomene Mao in honor of her sister Julie's achievement in racing. When Clarissa recognizes Tilly in the galley of the Thomas Prince, Clarissa slinks away to preserve her identity as Melba Alzbeta Koh. While everyone else prepares to abandon the Thomas Prince and leave for Corley Station on Titan, Anna laments to Hank Cortez and Tilly Fagan about coming so close and then turning back. Tilly reveals that she has used her influence to ensure she is allowed to stay, and Anna pleads with Tilly to help her to remain aboard as well. Tilly teases Anna, but they bond so that Tilly assures her she would help.

Notes[]

  • In the original source material, Abaddon's Gate, the character of Tilly is a heavy drinker and it is implied that she isn't proud of her marriage but that her husband would do anything for her. Her wealth and power in the novel is dependent on a man. The change to suggest her position is inherited is one likely meant to give her more agency.
  • In the original source novel, it is Tilly's family that is paying for the bulk of the cost to send the fleet to the ring. The Fagan family has ties with not just Hector Cortez but also Esteban Sorrento-Gillis.

Trivia[]

  • The SYFY website's episode recap spells the character's last name as "Fagin", a departure from the book. The name badge she wears and the subtitles are consistent with the books however.
