Tycho Manufacturing and Engineering Concern was one of the first major corporations to move into the Belt.
Their headquarters are situated at Tycho Station, which has existed for a century. It is also the building site for the generation ship Nauvoo at the time of the Eros incident.
History[]
The company was founded by the engineering genius Malthus Tycho, and is currently run by his grandson Bredon.
Decades before companies such as Pur'n'Kleen Water Company began harvesting ice from the rings of Saturn, Tycho engineers captured a small comet and parked it in stable orbit as a water resupply point for the Belt.
Tycho was also responsible for the decade-long endeavour of building the reaction drives of the asteroids Ceres and Eros, inducing spin-gravity so they could be colonized.
They were also slated to create a network of high-atmosphere floating cities above Venus eight decades ago, a project that was cancelled. This resulted in decades of lawsuits involving the Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile company.
Tycho has also been involved in discussions regarding space elevators for Mars and Earth.
